A short blurp about Rob Darien and perhaps the Outside Dogs. Nothing too specific. Just a lead into the bio page. Anything less would be uncivilized.

Awesome Show Last Night w/ Gray Shuler
Hey folks, if you were not at East Fork Last Night......you missed out big time. We had a great time with Gray Shuler and his band. They ROCKED the house, and then we took the stage and went to HONKY-TONK heaven. We all took a turn at the microphone by the end of the show, and we are looking forward to repeat performances.....coming to a town near you.
Highspeed Hayride Fan Appreciation Party
After our show in Nacogdoches with Jamie Friday Night, I HEaded towards Goliad to hang out with several great bands and put on a show. I was not dissappointed. Got to see Scott Wiggins Band, Captain Legendary, and HighSpeed Hayride. 90 Going south was finished when I got there, but I heard they were great too. If I'm not onstage, the next best thing is seeing a great band. Saturday I got to do both. Thanks for having me down HSH. See you guys soon.
Nashville Trip
Had a great trip out to Nashville last week. Got to met with a few industry people. Radio promoter, song pitcher, an a booking agent. Got to meet some folks at the Buck Jones Benefit at EXIT/IN. Walt Wilkins, Jim Lauderdale, and Brandon Rhyder. Got to see some old friends. David Dickerson, DeWayne Dupuy, and Billy Block. Also met some people who thought the new CD was great and want to help us out geting it to a larger audience. Tina Rice. I got to see a TELE MONSTER by the name of Guthrie Trapp absolutely demolish a tele at Robert's on Broadway. Thanks to Shayne and Rod for riding out there with me. Never hurts to have conversation during a 12 hour road trip. All in all a very productive trip. We look forward to many more in the near future.
First Month of CD Release Parties
Hey we've had all but 1 of our CD release parties. Marshall, Shreveport, Texarkana, Longview, Palestine, and 1 left to do in Fort Worth. They have all been fun. We didn't have party hats or confetti. I just said HEY this is the first time we've played here since the new CD came out. Let's party. And we did. And we got a bunch of CD's into the hands of the folks that we know would like them. Thanks for everybody who laid out their hard-earned cash for some of my music. AND shirts, coozies, and everything else we had. I have been amazed every week. And very thankful. We're looking foward to seeing everyone again soon. I'll keep you updated. rd
New Year Going Srong
We'll we got the new CD FINISHED. It is getting mastered this week, and going to the manufacturer next week. We are still on schedule for a Feb 15 release date. We have already played some fun shows in January and February-April is going to be busy. I hope to see everyone at one of our upcoming CD RELEASE PARTIES starting with Iron Horse in Palestine Feb 17. Then FEB 23 at SHOOTERS in Texarkana, FEB 24 at CHANCES in Marshall, and March 3 at Wild West in Shreveport. Make plans to get your copy at one of these shows. Don't worry though we will still be "releasing" through March. See everyone soon. ROB
Shooter's in Texarkana
Man, we had a fabulous time Friday Night in Texarkana at Shooter's. John Marshall sat in with us and we did our thang. Pete, David, and Rod had our groove tight as usual, and John just added a little extra TELE twang to our show. John used to play regularly with Pete and David when they were with VooDoo Cowboy. I'm glad they are with me now. I am having a blast every show. Shooter's was packed. I want to thank everyone for starting thier Christmas weekend with us. Standing room only started bleeding onto the dance floor, making it look smaller and smaller. We even had a few folks using the stage as thier seats. Which is cool with me because they paid rent in drinks. Everyone have a wonderful new year. We'll be in the studio putting the finishing touches on the new CD Jan 8-11 and then we'll be back in action at the end of January. See you then. Rob
Christmas is here.
Hey we've had fun this year. Played shows with Cooder Graw, Deryl Dodd, Jamie Richards, Chris Brade, and some guy we didn't know in Palestine. (security had to haul him off, but he was on stage with us for a while, so I guess that counts as sharing a show) We got a new CD ready to be fired at you. Sold a bunch of t-shirts and CD's so thanks for subsidizing our gasoline bill. I hope to see you all next year. Catch us for our last show of 2006 in Texarkana This Friday, Dec 22, at Shooters.
CD almost finished, Website back in action
Hey the website switch was a success. Now I can keep you up-to-date much simpler than before.

We are alomst finished with the new CD also. We have 8 of 11 finished. We are redoing DEEP IN LOVE on this CD, one more song written by Brent Maris called "Hole In My Glass", and a guitar song I wrote called, "Let the Tele Do the Talking".

I'll keep you posted.

Rob

We started working on a new album last month. We finished 2 songs and have them in the can. IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR ME, and HEARTBROKE AND HAVING A BALL. You have probably heard us play those songs before but we are glad to finally get to cut them in the studio. We will do a few a month until we get the album done. Maybe this fall??

"All Night Long" is #37 this week. Up 4 spots from last week. We have some great stations like KSCH in Mt. Pleasant, KSCN in Sulfer Springs, KIKT in Greenville, KOYN in Paris, KMKT in Denison, KLSN in Lufkin, KTEX in Livingston, KJCS in Nacogdoches, and KMHT in Marshall playing the song. That's JUST the ones in Northeast Texas. So when you're driving around up here, make sure you tune in to support these guys by listening. Thanks for all the help from radio and fans who have called and requested it!

There are a few stations that could REALLY help the song if they added it to thier rotation. Send them a quick email and let them know you would like to hear it. They are:
KBEL in Idabel OK Paul Box
KRVL in Kerrville TX Glenn Taylor
KFWR in Fort Worth TX Rick Lovett
KZAM in Victoria TX Egon Barthels

We are launching the promotion of the new Single " All Night Long " I am looking forward to getting this song out to radio. Otherwise known at our shows as #2. We have also been going through our supply of All Night Long Thongs at a record pace. I didn't know this was a unisex item. Little do I know. Ed Spacek has been promoting this record for about a week and has already had a great response from radio. We are hoping to build on the success of "Aint Enough" ( #45 song of the year 2004 on Texas Music Chart ), so call your radio stations and ask to hear "All Night Long".
